Our internship has been a success for 5 years! Due to our big move, the program is suspended until further notice.
Thank you for your interest in the Internship Program at Petals & Roots.
Participants receive training that may lead to a position with our team in the future. Each individual’s readiness is assessed at the end of the internship period in a semi-formal review.
Topics that are discussed throughout include handling and care of flowers and plants, elements of design, arranging techniques, wholesale ordering, customer care and being part of a creative team.
A stipend of $10 per day is provided to use for commuting, lunch or fresh flowers. You may accumulate this credit and use it at any time.
We welcome any questions you have!

To apply, please email us at info@petalsandroots.com and include the session, days and times you’re interested in. A four-hour minimum commitment is required during our 10am-7pm workday.
Feel free to include photos of any floral or other creative work you’ve made and share more about yourself such as: What is your level of experience with flowers? Do you have favorites? What do you do professionally?

Learn more about the upkeep of the retail side of our shop including receiving and handling of flowers delivered daily from our wholesale markets, conditioning stems and creating a display for customers. We will discuss designing for our daily deliveries, and interacting with customers in person, by phone and online.
• Thursday + Friday
Prep and design wedding centerpieces and personal flowers for our weekend events. This is more technical and detail oriented work that we will train you to help with and eventually be capable of doing on your own. Design and wholesale buying skills will be discussed.
• Saturday + Sunday
Pivot between shop upkeep and off-site event set-ups as needed. Weekends require flexibility depending on the needs of the shop and event calendar. Be prepared to travel independently (we cover expenses) or with our crew to metro area event locations as needed.
